Who is eligible to be nominated?

You may submit an entry for anyone – a co-worker, vendor, service-provider, customer, relative, friend, boss, contract worker, employee, etc. – whom you feel deserves recognition for something he/she has done (or continually does) related to the person's job, business and/or workplace.

Your entry can describe the person's quick thinking, extra effort, persistence, creativity, extreme customer service, talent, support for others, etc. – anything that you feel deserves recognition.

How will winners be selected?

At the end of the promo period, all submissions will be reviewed by a team of independent judges designated by Cardinal Brands. The judges will identify ten (10) finalists. From these ten finalists, five (5) winners will be selected by a random drawing.

When winners are notified, they will be able to choose from an array of national chain restaurant gift cards.

What are the odds that your hero will win?
For the most part, your odds depend upon how many grateful people take the time to fill out an entry form for their well-deserving Office Hero(s).

There are some things you can do to influence your chances. However, a product purchase is not one of them.

Tips for making your entry a winner.

• Write legibly (or attached typed sheet).
• Keep reasonably brief (250 words or less).
• Be creative. Include photos or examples of your hero in action or do something to make your entry (and your hero) standout.
• Describe the results of your hero’s action - the impact it had on you or others.
• Our judges are likely to be influenced when entries include a photo showing one of our Hero Tribute Tools (the certificate, door sign, crown available from this web site) being used to honor your hero at work.

Mail your enty to the address on the form so that we receive it before 12:00 A.M. Central Time on March 1, 2008.

QUESTIONS ABOUT MULTIPLE ENTRIES:

More than one entry for the same person IS ALLOWED, so long as each entry describes a different activity, or is being submitted by a different person. Each entry will be considered separately, on its own merit. 

WINNER ELIGIBIBILITY:

In order to be eligible for the prize noted, the winning “heroes” (candidates) must be legal residents of the United States, age 18 or older. Void in Puerto Rico, U.S. territories and possessions, and wherever prohibited by law. Winners may be required to sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility/Liability within 14 days of date printed on notification or s/he will be disqualified.

WHO & WHAT IS NOT ELIGIBILE:
• Entries containing descriptions of any activity deemed by the judges to be discriminatory, illicit, offensive or untrue will be immediately disqualified. Decisions of the judges on these matters shall be deemed final and binding.
• Employees and their immediate families (and those living in the same household) of Cardinal Brands, Inc, their related companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies (all of the foregoing entities, collectively, being the “Affiliates”) are not eligible to enter or win.

WINNER NOTIFICATIONS:

Contact information provided on entry form will be used to notify each of the winners. Three attempts will be made to contact the winners within a 30-day period. If the potential winner fails to respond within 14 days after the last attempt, or if the e-mail, mailing address, or phone number provided proves consistently undeliverable, the potential winner will be disqualified.

Any prize or prize notification returned as undeliverable will result in disqualification. (Contestants are responsible for notifying the Sponsor of changes in e-mail addresses or postal addresses by emailing or writing to the Cardinal Brands, Inc. at the email or write-in address at the end of these rules.) All taxes on prizes are the sole responsibility of winners. Cardinal Brands, Inc. reserves the right to withhold taxes or other payments as deemed by it necessary or appropriate to comply with applicable law.

ABOUT PRIZES & WINNERS' OPTIONS:

Neither Cardinal Brands, Inc., nor its resellers (dealers, retailers, wholesalers, contract stationers) are responsible for loss, theft, or damage to prizes awarded.

Prize awarded is non-transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash. If desired (and indicated by winner), an alternate prize of $50.00 (Retail Value) of EasyOpen® Ring Binders will be provided in place of the restaurant gift card.

Winners will be required to select the name (from a list provided to them by Cardinal Brands, Inc.) of a local restaurant/merchant where they would like to redeem their prize. Cardinal Brands, Inc. will then obtain vendor credit (gift card or gift certificate) to be used by the winners. (If the selected restaurant/merchant is not willing, or is unable to participate as described, winning entrant will be asked to identify an alternate restaurant/merchant.)

PRIVACY POLICIES/OPT-IN/OPT-OUT:

Cardinal Brands, Inc. WILL NOT use any candidate’s name or company name, and WILL NOT reveal any identifying details provided in the entries, without first obtaining permission from the candidate. All personal information provided on the entry forms will be held strictly confidential.

LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY:

Cardinal Brands, Inc. is not responsible for delayed, lost, interrupted, or unavailable network server or connections; computer equipment or software failure; traffic congestion; miscommunications by telephone or computer; telephone transmission or technical failure; jumbled, scrambled, or misdirected transmissions; or other errors of any kind, whether human, mechanical, or electronic.

RELEASE:

By entering Cardinal Brands, Inc. promotion, participants agree, to the fullest extent permitted under applicable law, to release, discharge, and hold harmless Cardinal Brands, Inc., their affiliates, their respective officers, employees, agents, and representatives from any and all damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses which may arise out of participation in Cardinal Brands, Inc. promotion or out of the acceptance, use, or misuse of prizes. By participating, you agree to these Official Rules and to the decisions of the judges whose decisions shall be deemed final and binding.

No responsibility is assumed for error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operations or transmission, theft, or destruction or unauthorized access to or alterations of entry materials, or for technical, network, telephone equipment, electronic, computer, hardware, or software malfunctions of any kind, or inaccurate transmission of or failure to receive entry information by Cardinal Brands, Inc. on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any web site or any combination thereof. Cardinal Brands, Inc. is also not responsible for any injury or damage to entrant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from playing or downloading any materials in the promotion or related online offers.
