We highly recommend everyone UPDATE their 2006 software to acquire the changes that have been made since the software was produced.
The IRS does not make a final determination on everything until close to the end of the year. The UPDATE contains changes made by the IRS and any changes made to the software for the current year only will not update previous years version to 2006.
There are a few customers that are receiving an error code:
"Flashfiler: T_Employer: Table cannot open its database:The database name is not set or dosen't exist [no error code]
Then
T_Employer: Cannot perform this operation on a closed dataset.
This is an error we have just identified and we are working on the resolution. When the error appears, say OK to the errors, shut the software down and immediately open it back up. You should not get the error message the second time the software is opened. You will be able to work in the software at that point.
An update to address this issue has been posted. Click on UPDATE below for instructions on how to update the software. We apologize for any inconvenience.
The 1099-INT, 1099-DIV and 1099-R forms were not finalized by the IRS until late this year. The update that will contains the ability to use these forms in the software.
